Letter: Thanks for the care and compassion in Sundre

There are days where it is hard to feel hopeful about the future of this world

There are days where it is hard to feel hopeful about the future of this world and then something happens that reminds me how the actions of each one of use can make this world a wonderful place.

I returned home from Calgary the other day and stopped in Sundre on the way to fill my four gallon water bottles. Being gimpy at the best of times, the drive from Calgary only accentuates this when I first get out of the car.

As I went in, this was about 1:30 a.m., I noticed a white SUV slowing down as it passed me. I wondered about it but proceeded in with my bottles.

Shortly after a lady came in. She looked exhausted and I found out she had just flown back from helping her parents in Nova Scotia and was probably wanting only to get home and go to bed.

Instead, on seeing me shuffle into the water place, she did a u-turn and came in to help me fill my bottles and carry them to my car.

So to the nurse at the Sundre hospital who has parents in Nova Scotia, drives a white SUV and lives just north of the hospital - we did introduce ourselves but at that hour nothing sticks in my brain - thank you for your caring and compassion.

Judy Lowles,

Sundre area
