Letter: Stop government waste on unneeded things

No need for a carbon tax or a fuel tax, says letter writer

Re: Commentary: Return of fuel tax unnecessary

As far as that goes there’s no need for a carbon tax either.

Both just take money from our pockets for the governments to waste on promoting things we don't want or need, like an Alberta Pension Plan or a provincial police force, instead of where it's needed (such as) improving our health care, our education systems and public services to reduce violence and crime and improve infrastructures in rural areas.

And stop the wasting or pollution of our precious fresh water by fracking and coal mining or force oil and gas companies to clean up their abandoned well sites.

Come up with a non-war way of solving our differences and inequalities between provincial and federal governments.

They could take some insight from Morton Burke travelling to China to compete in the world Snow Sculpture contest with the theme of promoting world peace.

It's a great sculpture they are planning to do of a Dove flying over a bunch of books with directions how that can be done.

I've added Morton to my hero list along with Kim Galloway, Monique LaGrange, Leslie Colman and Gord Krebs.
