FISHER
Austin Fisher was born June 27, 1939 in Calgary, Alberta, and passed away, at home, surrounded by the love of his family on January 1, 2010 at the age of 70. He married Betty Snell in 1962, and together they farmed and raised 4 children and helped to guide the lives of many more as foster parents over the years. Austin lived in the Midway area for 67 years, and attended Bancroft and Carstairs School. He also took Agricultural Mechanics at SAIT and at the Olds College. Austin made many friends over the years, and enjoyed keeping in touch with all of them. During his last days, we all reminded Austin that he had done to perfection his job of being a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, and that it was OK for him to go. Austin will be fondly remembered and forever loved by his wife of 47 years, Betty, his children Rosalee (Paul) Rattai Suzanne (Ian) Meadows, Daniel (Brenda), Kendall and Kevin. Also mourning his loss are his grandchildren Riley and Christina Rattai, Robert Dickau, Allen (Jamie) Dickau, Jennifer (Mike) Chilton, Tiffany Meadows, Natasha, Kaitlin, Jonathon Fisher, and his brother Norman Fisher. Austin also leaves to mourn brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, foster children, and all of his friends. As Austin was a founding member of the Mount View Special Riding Association in Olds we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to this cause. Services were held at Bergthal Mennonite Church, Didsbury on Saturday January 9, 2010. Arrangements in care of SUNSET FUNERAL SERVICE, Linden 403-546-3903.
