The Cremona Lions Club held its annual curling Fun Spiel on February 7. Although the number of participants was down those that came had a great time. It was nice to see the children out on the ice learning how to curl. The winner of the A event was Dave Bowman and the B winner was the Ben Grainger team.

Each year Lions clubs are twinned with another club in our district. This year we are twinned with the Rosebud club and will be travelling on March 11th to attend their supper meeting. Rosebud will return the visit later this year.

Our club’s recent donations include $5,000 to Haiti Relief via Lions Clubs International, $1,000 funding to the local Parent Link Program, $1,000 to the Jimmy Richards Benefit held February 27 at the Madden Hall and $500 to the MD 37 Lions Cavalcade for Diabetes Awareness (specifically the Travelling Diabetes Resource Library).

We also donated the pop for the Cremona Minor Hockey fundraiser.

Cremona Lions are celebrating their 40th Anniversary this year. The Anniversary Charter Night will be held on Saturday, April 17.
