OLDS — Local throwing coach Rachel Andres is making another push to make it to the 2025 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Andres last tried to make the Canadian Olympic team in 2021.

“I start my Olympic push in April down in Oklahoma. I’ll do four competitions while down there,” Andres wrote in an email.

Specifically, she'll be competing April 6, 7, 12, and 14.

“Our Canadian season doesn’t start until May, so this will give me a head start," Andres wrote.

“The Olympic window closes on June 30, so every opportunity matters. As of today, I am sitting #58 on the Paris Olympics tracking list to start the outdoor season. The top 32 go.

“Now I just need the snow to melt so actual outdoor practices can start.”
