Wallet stolen in Carstairs

Police are looking for a suspect who entered an unlocked garage in the 600 block of 10 Avenue in Carstairs. The incident occurred sometime between 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 29 and 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 30.

Theft at Barley’s Pub

On January 30 at 11:45 a.m., a male entered Barley’s Pub in Carstairs and was briefly playing the VLTs. He was described as 6 - 2, with a dark moustache and wearing a red sweater and black jacket.

“When the pub employee went to the back, the individual went to the till and stole all the cash flow,” said Sgt. Jacobson. “A significant amount of money was stolen.”

The man was seen departing on foot.

“Patrol was made to the area but we were not able to apprehend this individual,” added Sgt. Jacobson.

“Part of business security is that employees should never leave cash registers unattended,” he said. “It becomes a crime of opportunity.”

Police continue to investigate and are following up on some leads.
