Thieves target Zebedeez
The owners of Zebedeez Hair Design in Carstairs are grateful thieves didn’t make off with more, after an early morning break in at their hair salon on Hammond Street on January 4.
“We’re doing a photo session for the January 20 national Mirror Award competition in Toronto, and our photographer left all the equipment in the back,” said Ray Cenaiko, who owns Zebedeez along with his wife, Lee. “The first thing I checked was the equipment, but it was all there.”
The Cenaikos arrived at their salon before 10 a.m. on January 4 and quickly discovered that the front door lock was damaged.
“They tried to jimmy the front door but weren’t able to,” added Cenaiko. “But they wrecked the deadbolt in their attempt.”
The suspects gained entry through the side door, instead, and stole a new, all-in-one touchscreen computer.
“They also stole a small amount of cash,” Cenaiko said. “We’ve been at this location for three years and we’ve never been broken into before.”
The matter is still under investigation by Didsbury RCMP. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Didsbury RCMP at 403-335-3382.
